WITH a helipad, football field, golf driving range and a pool in their Connewarre holiday home’s backyard, you could say the Macafee family are on a good wicket.
But they’re ready to pull up stumps at the $4-$4.4 million lifestyle property — which includes a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house — and give someone else a crack at what could be Victoria’s ultimate backyard cricket pitch.

The sports-mad family have owned 1701-1739 Barwon Heads Rd, Connewarre, for about 15 years — and have yet to see anyone dismissed six and out.
“You can’t hit far enough with a tennis ball — on one side the fence is about 500m away, so there’s no six and out,” Mr Macafee said.
Typically umpiring has fallen to his father, who lived at the home for a number of years.
“He’s pretty good, but he plays favourites with the younger kids,” Mr Macafee said.
In the winter family gatherings have more often than not turned into goal kicking contests, though with just 18 members in the wider family they’ve yet to play a full match.
“But whenever we get the family out there it’s been good fun,” Mr Macafee said.
“And it’s been used on and off by three generations of the family.”
But the time has come for someone else to step up to the crease.
“We are probably just getting to the point now where the kids are all a bit older, and they have jobs and it gets harder to get everyone down here at once,” Mr Macafee said.
RT Edgar’s Felix Hakins is handling the sale and said he’d never encountered a home so suited to a sporting family.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Mr Hakins said.
Interested parties have already begun to emerge including those looking for a home, a holiday house and even some international interest.
“Though no offers from Virat Kohli, yet,” Mr Hakins said.
Most of those showing interest were being lured in by the homes unique array of family-friendly features, he added.
The 68.8ha property is zoned for farming, but could also be sold as two separate titles — with the house and its long list of amenities on one title, and open farm land on the other.
