One of the finest penthouses in Mortlake has sold for $2.3 million.
The three-bedroom top floor apartment at 10/24 Hilly St sold via an expressions of interest campaign to a family from out of the area, who were wanting to downsize.
The quality of finish was what attracted the interested parties, with 444sqm of living space and a main bedroom with spa bath, dressing room and study.
It also has a 190sqm entertainment terrace with views over the water.
Selling agent Dib Chidiac of Raine and Horne Concord said the views combined with the low strata were some of the major selling points.
“If it is good quality and priced accordingly it will sell,” he said.
The last time it sold was in March 1999 for $890,000.
Mr Chidiac also sold a five-bedroom house in North Strathfield at 10 Nelson Rd for $2.5 million.
There were four serious buyers originally but it narrowed down to just two or three in the end.
A young family from the inner west wanting a large home were the buyers, with features of the home including a 803sqm block, a stone and stainless steel kitchen with breakfast bar and a saltwater pool in the backyard.
It last changed hands in March 2011 for $1.725 million.
