David Quayle said that what he loved most about his Jilliby acreage at 24 Treelands Dr was the feeling of privacy and seclusion.
“You really feel like you can get away from it all, but the location is really close to Wyong, rather than being right at the end of the valley,” he said.
With striking views across to distant mountain ranges, this private sanctuary has its own little oasis – a near new 12.5 metre heated pool that sits elevated above a tree-studded forest.
“I’ve sat in the pool with a beer on the edge and all you can see is trees,” Mr Quayle said.
“It was a big engineering project because it was the largest possible pool that could be made. The house is quite broad, so we wanted a pool that didn’t look small in relation.”
Having lived at the property for just over three years, the vendors have made some big changes.
The downstairs area with kitchenette has been completely modernised with new tiling, exposed pine ceiling and a renovated bathroom.
An entertainment zone for the family, the area also includes a games room and large rumpus with open fireplace, offering more space to play, or working perfectly as in-law accommodation.
A split level home, artificial grass and hardwood decking have been added to the upper level, which flows out from an open-plan kitchen and dining area.
“We live in this area day-to-day, there is space for a big dining table and it all flows out onto the grassy area,” Mr Quayle said.
“It is a massive house – we had four kids living with us at one point and there was plenty of space for motorbikes and horses.”
Just 25 minutes from Norah Head and Lakes beaches, 10 minutes to Westfield Tuggerah and 45 minutes to the Wahroonga freeway exit, Mr Quayle said that he couldn’t believe how convenient it was to live in such privacy, while remaining close to everything.
“The Wyong Milk Factory is really close by and it has this trendy industrial feel, kind of like Surry Hills,” he said.
“There are so many good surrounding places. We are selling to be closer to family, but it will be an emotional sale.”
No. 24 Treelands Dr is for sale via Gavin Schwebel at The Property Market Tuggerah and will go to auction on Saturday, 2 February, 3.30pm with a bidding guide of $1.5 million.
