Latest creation in blue-chip suburb to attract families wanting space

Families looking for a home close to Brisbane’s CBD need look no further than Kalka’s latest creation.

The Jardine 345 is a two-storey, four-bedroom home at 92 Bellevue Tce, Clayfield.

It features 2.5 bathrooms and integrated living spaces as well as a two-car garage.

Kalka founder and director Hugh Bridle said prior to building the home, there had been an old tennis court on the site

“Because of this, the pad was predominantly flat with a steep drop at the rear. We were able to lift the pad to sit slightly higher than the original tennis court did, to build up and gain access from the street level,” Mr Bridle said.

Designed with Queensland families in mind, he said the home would suit those who wanted to embrace inner-city living and enjoy the indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

He said one of the most outstanding features of the home was the double height dining room void with a raked ceiling.

There are three skylights which flood the house with natural light despite its south-facing orientation.

Mr Bridle said Kalka chose this specific block because of the complexities it presented.

“The block had been on the market for a significant amount of time because it didn’t allow for a straightforward build, which for us, was a serious opportunity,’’ he said.

“With more than 6m worth of slope, we were able to showcase the high level of capabilities we have as a custom home builder.”

He said Kalka’s in-house custom design studio allowed more control over the design and client process.

“Clayfield is a good example of how we streamline the building process and deliver homes of exceptional quality while cost effective,” Mr Bridle said.
